Rocky Mountain Bison Association Fall Ranch Tour and Social (CO)

2026 Fall Ranch Tour & Social
Friday, September 18th and Saturday, September 19th
Join us for a two-day, exploration of some of Colorado’s largest properties managing bison. On Friday, September 18th, we spend the day in Westcliffe, CO where we will first visit Westcliffe Meat Company to tour their USDA processing facility and see a bison carcass processing demonstration. We will then travel to town for a nice bison lunch. We will spend the rest of the day at Wolf Springs Ranch, first touring their bison herd and learning more about their ranch and operation. We will conclude the day with a bison dinner on the ranch and sit down for a general bison question and answer period with attendees. (Please bring your own chair.)
Saturday morning, we will learn about the Zapata Ranch Preserve, owned and managed by The Nature Conservancy, and their ongoing co-management of the bison herd with the Intertribal Buffalo Council in a broader federal and state landscape. We will enjoy a nice bison lunch at Dune Valley Distillery and conclude with a presentation from NRCS about programs and assistance for bison producers. Following the conclusion of our event, we encourage attendees to visit the Great Sand Dunes National Park, nearby National Wildlife Refuges, National Forests, or other public lands in the area on their own.
